CURRENT MISSION
Adventure! Art! Living! Loving!
ABOUT ME
I'm mellow and down to earth, and I have a very open mind. Surprise me. I love nature, love to hike (but don't do it enough) and I'm at peace watching a thunderstorm roll by. I am easily amused, I like to make people happy, and I am kind if a dork (or so I am told). I'm a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I open up a lot. I like dessert first, I have a very upbeat attitude and quite a positive outlook on life; I just love living! I am a photographer, I love taking pictures of just about anything, more with an artsy aspect. And I am vegan! Eeee.
Currently I sub in the deli at a natural foods co-op. I am joyfully helping/living with folks at the Dacha Project, which is a collective of five awesome people that got together several years ago to build an off the grid sustainable homestead! More info @ dachaproject.com. It's amazing out here.
PHILOSOPHY
"Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet." ~Roger Miller
"Cry until you laugh, and laugh until you cry."
"The individual is solely responsible for giving his or her own life meaning and for living that life passionately and sincerely, in spite of many existential obstacles and distractions including despair, angst, absurdity, alienation, and boredom." -Søren Kierkegaard
"they say goldfish have no memory, I guess their lives are much like mine, the little plastic castle is a surprise every time..." -Ani DiFranco
"You should never be mad at what you can't help, and you should never be mad at what you can help."
Do something every day that scares you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have helped host a couple of people since I joined the site, but mainly because a close friend of mine is an ambassador in my home town. I can show people around though!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have assisted in hosting a couple people, but I have also surfed a few places across the country, and in Hawaii. What an amazing idea!
Surfed in: Brooklyn NY, Denver CO, Omaha NE, Kona HI, Kealakekua HI. More someday!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: One book that really got me was Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, heh heh the Harry Potter series, right now I'm reading Cosmos by Carl Sagan, I loved the book Trash by Dorothy Allison, Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown, or any kind of lesbian novel.
Music: I'm not hard to please when it comes to music, I love everything except new country and shitty rap, but I do really looove Mindless Self Indulgence, Ani DiFranco, Mother Mother, Bjork, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Gogol Bordello, Death/Doom metal...
Movies: I loved Man on the Moon with Jim Carry, or any movie with him really, Zoolander, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Deathproof, Spirited Away or anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Pineapple Express, Team America: World Police....I like comedies, action, drama, even chick flicks, but I do like me some blood and gore.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to swim with whale sharks at the Georgia aquarium.
I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for several months WWOOFing/exploring/snorkeling/swimming in the ocean/eating taro and apple bananas/drinking kava and soaking up the sunshine! Also, when I was there I jumped off a 35 (45?) foot cliff into the ocean! From the ocean floor, Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain on earth, and from top of that mountain, I watched the sun set above the clouds.
I am living off-the-grid, where our electricity comes from a solar panel, and a veggie-powered generator!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a bit about photography, art, vegan baking and cooking, how to weave baskets, off-the-grid and/or communal living
