About Me

Hi! I'm Tammy and I've been traveling the world for the past ten years via Workaway, HelpX, WWOOF, and various house and pet sitting sites. I'm a certified ESL teacher and tutor and I also have extensive experience as a personal assistant and property manager. I've managed Airbnbs in Hawaii, and a few boutique hostels in Mexico. I genuinely love to travel and love to meet new people. I'm also a huge foodie!

I'm happy to share WhatsApp numbers and do video calls for verification/safety if that's an issue. I have all my IDs, passport, student ID, etc and I've been through a complete background check for Trusted Housesitters. I just don't want to fork out $60 for verification on this site too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been traveling around the world as a professional house and pet sitter, as well as an English teacher/tutor.
When I'm not working, I thought CS might be a great way to see new places and meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a wide variety of genres.

Music: Smokey jazz, classical, swing, war jazz, disco, 80s, outlaw country, and nature sounds.

Movies: Documentaries, travel, adventure, biopics, history, historical drama, sci-fi, classic B/W.

Books: I love the smell of books! Right now I'm reading the "Natchez Burning" trilogy by Greg Isles. I love anything to do with history whether fiction or non-fiction. Biographies, autobiographies, journals, diaries, lost notebooks of random people. I'm genuinely curious how people lived and what they felt and thought.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been lucky to have done so many amazing things. I've given birth. I've lived on Maui. I've been to the jungles of Thailand. I've been blessed with an amazing family. I hitched up the Pacific coast of Mexico. Hard to choose one thing but I have lots of stories that I'd love to share!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an ESL teacher so I'm happy to help you practice your English. I also speak Spanish from my time living in Mexico. We can spend the entire time only talking in Spanish if you want to practice that! I'm a good cook and I help you in the kitchen. We can swap travel tales. I'm also fine with being quiet and chilling out. I'm down for sharing some food or chit chat or we can just do our own thing. I don't expect a babysitter or constant companion.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories for sure. I can cook and I'm happy to teach or just cook and eat together.
