Overview
About Me
I've been described as both relentlessly positive and oppressively optimistic, and my favorite thing in the world is whatever activity I am currently doing. I am more than slightly obsessed with whales. I have no sense of smell.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet people who see a world worth sharing. Traveling for me is about learning new angles through which to see the world, and those come best through meeting new people. The years I've spent on couchsurfing have proved to me this platform is a great way to get beyond the usual tourist picture points and into the always-unexpected melding of personalities that makes a place truly interesting. That, and adventures are always better when shared.
Interests
I love anything marine, anything written, and anything chocolate. I'll try anything, no matter how different -- birding with sweet old ladies in California, learning to collect shellfish with Jeju's diving women, kayaking behind sperm whales in New Zealand, horse trekking in Mongolia, chilling with a cup of tea, you name it. The stranger, the better.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly love whatever movie I've seen the most recently.
As far as books go...it's hard to pin down any one favorite book or author, because they're all so gloriously different. Margaret Atwood. Kurt Vonnegurt. Dostoyevski. Anything honest and beautiful.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Kissing a wild gray whale in Baja California.
Teach, Learn, Share
Every single person to ever exist has something to teach. You and me included. So why not learn from each other.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of positivity. An eye for new adventures. The desire to learn and the willingness to be proved wrong.
