About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to continue learning traditional crafts and keep pursuing things that bring me joy so that I can pass that knowledge and joy onto others.
ABOUT ME
I've been described as eccentric, fun and quirky. Underneath it all, i'm pretty chill and like my schedules and routines but will venture out in search of epic adventures. My friends would describe me as a wonderful cook and a supportive, loyal individual. They would probably say I am peppy and optimistic but I like to think I'm not overly bubbly. I love dancing: contra, square, English country dance & waltz.
PHILOSOPHY
"Life is too short to live the same day twice."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I currently surf, but when home I try to open my doors to surfers but my place is more rural so no one really comes through my way and my roommates are not as keen on couchsurfing as I am.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couch-surfed a modest amount and the experience has led me to meet people with amazing stories, an abundance of creativity and an open accepting character. I have met some good friends through surfing in other countries and look forward to meeting up with one in particular who will be in New York City this Fall. I have appreciated the people I have encountered through couchsurfing and truly believe it is one of the best ways to be a traveler and not a tourist.
Interests
Writing old fashioned snail-mail to friends and family, stuffing albums and my walls full of quirky postcards, dressing up in 1940's style clothing for holidays and special events. Wood working and spoon carving, knitting, paper craft etc. Reading good books, like being productive and helping to facilitate a positive change in someone else's life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything and everything except some mysteries. I tend to skim the synopsis and go from there. A few favorites...
Woodswoman by Anne LaBastille
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
The Legacy of Luna by Julia Hill
Music
Anything, country, blues, jazz, alternative, rock, oldies, bluegrass, electronic...pretty much anything except acid rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Checking out roadside attractions throughout MN. Touring castles in Germany. Eating Belgian Waffles in Ghent. Seeing tall ships in England. Watching barracudas feed while swimming in the ocean off of St.Johns Island.
Spending time at intentional communities and communes.
Hitch hiking across the border between France and England...that was an experience!
Attended the Firefly Primitive Skills Gathering in North Carolina
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. I think the people I like most are the eccentric and quirky ones with crazy stories you almost wouldn't believe. I also like the quiet people who enjoy reading and philosophy but I truly connect with anyone who has a zest for life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
It all depends on the people who host me and how much time I have with them but I like to share my massage skills, share stories and sometimes I can cook or bake for my hosts.
