About Me

CURRENT MISSION

It's the little things in life that makes life worth living- meeting new people makes it even better

ABOUT ME

I love traveling and meeting new people and spending time with my wonderful community of friends world wide. I'm lucky to have met so many wonderful people in my life!
I love the spending time outside. I've been backpacking since high school and I recharge in the natural world hiking in the green belt in Austin, camping, swimming or even just a bit of nice quite time in my backyard. I try to take at least one long backpack trip each year outside of TX- more if I can swing it and smaller trips closer to home. My work and passions have revolved around art, natural history, science and conservation. I'm pretty down to earth and I don't take myself too seriously. I am and artist welding, environmental art, encaustic painting and collage etc. I'm working on a project that restores and remediates the soil and our land and gives it back to everyone including wildlife. (big project)!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a member of couch surfing with another person since 2007 but I'm just now creating my own profile to couch surf by myself. CS Rocks! I have loved all the people that I have met through CS while either hosting or traveling. Most of them continue to be part of my life to this day. Looking forward to meeting more wonderful couchsurfers!!

Interests

Backpacking (like the kind in the wilderness), swimming, camping, traveling, yoga, dancing, meeting new friends, hula hooping, natural history, exploring tidal pools and mucking about in creeks, art- sculpture, welding, printmaking, kayaking and snorkeling, encaustic painting (really any form of art i love), learning about how to help out planet and of course traveling!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was so amazingly fortunate to see ocelots, jaguars, jagurundi's, tapirs, pumas, a kudu, river dolphins, eyelash viper and lots of species of monkey in the wild on several trips. I feel so fortunate to have had these experiences- I'm so lucky!

Teach, Learn, Share

Anyone that is open minded and has an open heart. I love gardening and would love to chat about gardening with anyone or about artistic project and ideas. I'm happy to help cook, chop veggies and share a meal with anyone if I have time. I'd love to meet more couch surfers in my neck of the woods (Austin). I'd love to practice yoga or meditate with anyone if time permits.
