Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience as many new cultures and learn as many new languages as possible!
ABOUT ME
I come from a small city in Australia, which is very isolated from the rest of the world, Perth in Western Australia.
I have spent some time living in Italy and working as a translator but I am now living in Sydney and working for the Government in public policy roles... it's actually not as boring as it sounds :-).
I love travelling and I don't think I will ever get rid of the travel 'itch'. Six months is pretty much my limit before I start looking for a new home!!
PHILOSOPHY
Believe then do!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a few people but an unable to host at the moment as I live in a share house.
I been lucky enough to be hosted by a few people around the world though, who gave me an insight into life in their countries that I would not have gained if I had just stayed in a hostel/other and seen the city through tourist eyes.
Interests
My main interests at the moment are hiking/nature, politics, music and languages. I also love dancing, but am not very good at it, and I'm always up for a boardgames (particularly Scrabble, which everyone hates!).

Music, Movies, and Books
Harry Potter...duh! I tend to enjoy a lot of romantic or fantasy books/tv shows/films. I try to read and watch as many things as possible in Italian at the moment to help maintain my Italian language ability.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I always tell everyone I visited Egypt during a civil war and survived. This is true, but I went there without checking up on the political situation, thinking 'hey, flights are cheap' and I was lucky enough to stay with some Australian friends, who had body guards and chaperoned cars, so I was well protected!!
In any case, Egypt is an amazing country - both the ancient and the modern landscapes are so stimulating and interesting and the people are so friendly. I would go back there in a heartbeat (as soon as the political situation improves...).
Just be careful about the food as I had 48 hour food poisoning and could have sworn I was on the brink of death!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I had some practice teaching English when I was living in Italy... before that I knew nothing about English grammar :-D we seriously don't learn it at school! Anyway, lucky for you, I know now what 'past perfect' is so feel free to ask me all your English questions.
What I Can Share with Hosts
English language, Italian language, friendship, experiences... I'd love to say cooking, but sadly my cooking skills suck so don't expect me to bring kangaroo meat over to your place and start cooking up a BBQ :-P I can do salads though :-D
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Austria, Egypt, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
