ABOUT ME

Name's KEN! I'm Chinese, single, 24 years old, born and raised in Singapore. In Singapore our first language is English. But I can speak some Mandarin. I'm calm, cheerful, and a very low maintenance person.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be a person that brings value to people close to me. If possible, be an example that people around me can look up to, as well as my own children if I ever have any in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never CouchSurfed before. But I have lived on hard marble floors in my friend's house for days at a time. A very low maintenance man. So a "Couch" is not really necessary for me to survive. Haha!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music as long as it's good. Currently listen to Disney classics, famous movie theme songs, and have a large Japanese playlist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed my army term in Singapore with a rank of first lieutenant, won many medals in Wushu (Chinese martial arts) and also was the first Singapore champion in a Japanese Sword Martial art that I do.

But please don't be mistaken. Despite all these kung fu I have done, I really am the most gentle person you would have ever met. Till this day I dare not kill cockroaches. I just pick them up with a tissue and free them outside the window :( I have wonderful masters who imparted the essence of self defense, discipline, and a peaceful mind.

Teach, Learn, Share

Here are my skill sets:

-Drawing, painting
-Proficient in Photoshop
-Know a little bit of Guitar and Piano
-Cook very often as a student! (Especially Asian Food)
-Proficient in traditional Chinese martial arts

I would be really glad to be of help in the kitchen and learn new dishes, as well as share some authentic Chinese dishes with the western families if they are interested. My knife skills in cutting ingredients is pretty fast! I will not disappoint you in the kitchen as an assistant!

I have trained in internal martial arts and external martial arts and can share with you you exercises to improve blood circulation, and improve your health in general. Also I can provide you with some tips to self defense if one really needs to know. I currently specialize in Wing Chun.
