About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Chase the snow.
ABOUT ME
I've been jumping from one mountain town to the next for over a decade. I try to only live in places where elevation is greater than population. Each destination has brought new friends and a greater appreciation for the natural world and the diverse and playful people it attracts.
In my experience, Jackson has been unlike any other ski town I have lived in. While there is still an ebb and flow of visitors and seasonal workers, the committed residents of Jackson are incredibly passionate about sustaining this unique and complex community. For that reason, I have received overwhelming support since I started my own business and I am so grateful for the opportunity I've been given.
Since moving to Jackson I have undoubtedly progressed my skills in the backcountry, realized the career I was meant to pursue, and met several new friends while biking or snowboarding on Teton Pass and participating in community events. I don't ever plan on leaving.
PHILOSOPHY
I'll borrow this one from James Michener. I don't think I could say it any better.
"The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him is always doing both."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
While I was in college, I spent all my school breaks making solo trips overseas to stay with couchsurfers. After college, I spent 6 months couchsurfing while snowboarding around Europe and trekking through Asia. This community supported me during one of the most incredible chapters of my life and I could not have achieved it without the help of a very generous group of individuals. Thank you... you know who you are! Now that I am settled here in Jackson, I am paying it forward.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS is an incredible tool for those who are willing to share themselves with the community. As the membership has grown, many people have joined CS looking for nothing more than accommodations. Not only do they undermine all that CS stands for, but they miss out on the best part of this project: the people. Everyone has something to offer this world, whether it be stories, skills, or just good company. I have come away from every couch-surfing experience with new knowledge, new perspectives, and new friends. So make the most out of your participation here and give back to the CS community as much as it gives to you!
