About Me
Greetings!
My name is Phoebe (fee-bee)! I was born in Shanghai, but I was adopted around 1 year old, so I've lived in the United States the entire time. I was going to journey to China some time back, but the economy took a decline :(
I grew up in St. Louis county, but I've been traveling around since I was 16. Started domestically, like Austin and Long Beach, then it expanded to Japan and Switzerland! After graduation I plan to relocate to Long Beach, and travel to Brussels.
I study international business at some university in Missouri. It's in a small town, which is quite the change from where I usually stay. Because of my major, I'm interested in economics and international affairs. I am required to study abroad, but I don't know where to go. Suggestions welcome!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'll get to meet locals and get some real information about the city, as opposed to a hotel. I'm not really into doing things that are too heavily aimed at tourists.
And after I graduate, I'm headed to Long Beach for good! I'd love to start hosting! I've met so many interesting people in LB, and I'd love to give newcomers a first-hand experience!
Interests
I'm not picky about what I do. There's not a lot to do in Missouri to begin with, so anything goes.
I do not like, however, being stuck in traffic. Which is ironic in LA, but it happens!
- coffee
- hiking
- urban exploration
- food
- ocean
- city life
Music, Movies, and Books
A distant (and deceased) relative of mine won a Nobel Prize for literature! I've read some of his works, which I do recommend!
try: Henryk Sienkiewicz
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Life's a pretty amazing thing to begin with. I wouldn't call one experience of mine the most #iconic, but I've been able to fill my life with people, places, and things to learn.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could tell you some things about living in different areas of this country. I grew up in the midwest, I go to school close to the south, and I've lived out west for a bit as well. There's new lingo, food, and people!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to be a part of your household, like a roommate! I don't want hosts to feel like they have to cater to me like a hotel.
