ABOUT ME

Originally from Cairns, and now living on and off in Brisbane, I have most recently finished working with a multicultural non-profit in communications and media training while also completing a Masters degree. I'm now off to the University of Western Ontario to study a one year degree in non-profit studies.

Growing up in a regional town in the tropics, where my primary school set it as a requirement to wear hats before it was compulsory to wear shoes, has helped define who I am - pretty laid back, enjoys the outdoors, not a fan of the cold, and resists enclosed shoes to name a few personal characteristics.

I have always enjoyed travelling and exploring, both throughout Australia and internationally. I have worked in China, Ghana and Australia, and I´m currently working with an NGO in Cusco, Peru for the next few years!

PHILOSOPHY

Well I'm not really into that bumper sticker kind of philosophy, but I suppose my main thing is not taking yourself too seriously and trying to learn, participate and challenge on all levels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I generally try to get involved in Couchsurfing groups wherever I end up as I think Couchsurfing is such a great network of interesting people, and while I haven't been able to host people in the last year or two, I have caught up with other couchsurfers - both through Couchsurfing.org and helping out friends of friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Africa, met up with coach surfers in China, Ghana and Australia, and have done unofficial couchsurfing in many other countries.

Going to the World Music Festival near Timbuktu was pretty cool. Growing up just off the Great Barrier Reef. Working with a tiny local non-profit cultural heritage organisation in China. Climbing Lamb Range.
