About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to wander, and in doing so live my "bonheur" or my happiness
ABOUT ME
I'm a young soul trying to figure out life and live life and be present and experience as much as I can. I've only couch surfed a few times before over several years. My favorite quote is "Man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it". I've been a bit on the lam the last few years, at first I thought I was just putting off "real jobs" and "responsibility" but now I'm starting to become more and more attached to the idea that I don't have to succumb to the rat race. Still trying to figure out how to make it work, and so grateful for all the kind souls, my family and many friends all over who have real jobs and couches for me to stay on.
I just moved back to California after living in Mexico City for 2 years. I loved my time there but now it's time to prepare for grad school and I had to come home to get my ducks in order.
PHILOSOPHY
i think my personal philosophy stems from my favorite poem...
which i read in Franny & Zooey by J.D. Salinger by Isa and it goes "oh snail, climb mt fuji, but slowly...slowly!"
and my favorite quote..by rilke "let life happen to you, life is always in the right"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My first experience couchsurfing was when I spent a few days in Berlin with some very cool students. It was great! During my summer in Brooklyn, our apartment was sort of a mini couch surfing world. We constantly had someone's friend, lover, cousin, staying on our couch. It was great meeting new people all the time.
I was a bit homeless in Salt Lake City, Utah during a transition period in my life and I found a wonderful opportunity to couch surf for a couple weeks with a French exchange student.
My last apartment in Mexico City was a revolving door of characters, friends of friends of friends from Argentina, Peru, Spain, Germany, France constantly filling our home with cheer, sleeping on our couches, and exploring the city with us. Every single person taught me so much, just about different ways of living, and how lives can be so different yet come together in a random city one day. I made some very dear friends in this way, some even after having only had them on our couch for maybe 3 days! Such an impact some people can have on your life. I love it!

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favorite authors are Haruki Marukami, Jack Kerouac, Ernest Hemmingway and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I recommend any book by these authors but specifically, The wind-up bird chronicles, Jack Keroac: Selected Letters 1940 - 1956, A Farewell to Arms, and 100 years of solitude.
I'm currently multi-tasking and in the middle of several books, 4-hour work week, Wanderer Society, and An Unfinished Ghost.
I went through a phase of several months where I watched a movie or two every single day. I especially love anything old classical italian, Fellini, or french, Goddard. I love the style of Call Me By Your Name but also really, really enjoyed Annihilation.
Music. I like it. I'm learning to play Bohemian Rhapsody on the keyboard (a simplified version of course)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I bought a one-way ticket to Maui and surprised my brother and his expecting wife. I was only going to stay for a few weeks while I made enough $$ to buy a ticket home, but they ended up asking me to stay for a few months and so I got a real job and I commuted to work every day on the bus, and I made friends with locals, went to the beach often, saw rainbows every day and it was such a beautiful time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm learning to cook. I can make salsa!
