ABOUT ME

I've always loved to travel. I think I've been more places than anyone else I know. I mostly have my old church to thank for that. I've been all over Europe - Netherlands, England, Belgium....plus many place across the U.S.

Favorite place ever in the world - Sydney, Australia (I'm so blessed to have stayed there for about 2.5 months doing a study abroad program with Boston U.)

Favorite place ever in the US - San Francisco, CA (Of course, I later found out that San Fran and Sydney are sister cities. Go figure!)

Favorite place ever in SC - Charleston, SC (Seriously, it's one of the most beautiful places on earth.)

PHILOSOPHY

Wherever you go, there you are. It is a quote from the oft misunderstood "Brady Bunch Movie" but I've actually had people tell me how profound it is...and I guess it is. No matter where you are in life, that's where you are supposed to be in that moment. Living in the moment with a heart for the future is pretty much the only way to live.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've always been really into forum participation, so I hope to really get involved locally and be something of a guide...even if I don't have a couch to share.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have done two Couchsurfing in Atlanta, Georgia and hoping to expand! I have met a couple of Surfers there and have met about a half dozen surfers at local events in Columbia. Really great people!

Interests

Travel, writing, surfing the net....could spend hours on here...! I love going out to eat with my hubby and brother in law.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love movies of all types, especially romantic comedies. Also love top 40, R&B and alternative rock music.

Current fave movies: Juno, the Italian Job, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Garden State

Music: Maroon 5, Out of Eden, Jars of Clay, 4Him, everything 80s and 90s!

Books: the Bible (amazing what you can learn from a book thousands of years old); The Five Love Languages for Singles, Cold Mountain, Christy, & The Notebook....and yes, the books are better than the movies/TV. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge. For someone who used to be afraid of heights as a kid, it was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. It's definitely worth the time and money to get a tour. Hopefully I can scan a pic of me at the top on here soon! Pretty much everything at the Darling Harbour and Circular Quay is incredible in Sydney.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned that people tend to be distrustful....it's okay to be that way, but I think people deserve a chance. I hope everyone can get back into a place where they trust first..until that person gives them a reason to not be trusted.
