Overview
About Me
I am an enthusiastic and highly motivated graduate from Lafayette College, with a B.S. degree in Neuroscience. I am fascinated by the world and the cultural niches which shape our perceptions of reality, and I look forward to experiencing these philosophies first-hand.
I have lived and worked in places as varied as New York, Belo Horizonte, Copenhagen, and (hopefully) Cape Town. I currently live an hour away from Boston, where I will be getting my Masters in Epidemiology before I ship off to California for my PhD.
I am an avid reader, tea (and coffee) enthusiast, foodie, and hiker with a strong drive for life and experiences. If you stay with me, you'll have opportunities to visit some of my favorite hiking trails, restaurants, and "New Hampshirite" hotspots. I can also appreciate a quiet and private experience-- I am respectful and eager to let you create memories the way you want them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Life is short, and we only get to live it once. I want to look back and say I built my definition of life, I challenged my own preconceived biases and tasted every color this world has to offer. I want to say that I've stepped out of the cave and experienced the exhilaration and beauty of having the light warm my skin.
I’m eager to explore everything – exotic places, new people, different cultures, and my own ideas on freedom. Because you can't experience one way of life and know it's the right course for you. You need lifestyles, ideas, philosophies which challenge that paradigm, so you may compare and contrast each lifestyle with a wholesome outlook.
Interests
A recent graduate, I kept myself busy getting involved in a bunch service groups, where I tutored children and taught science at one of Easton's homeless shelters. I was also a member for a number of boards, including some which planned leadership conventions, spiritual celebrations, and philanthropic events.
I also love running; every so often I try to leave home for an hour or so and go run along the trails. I work out every day, which certainly keeps me sane and helps me relax and recharge my batteries. I also love sightseeing-- hikes, piers, downtown, festivals, beer tasting.... if it's a memory in the making, I'm eager to experience it.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is a tough one. Music has been a lifelong passion of mine... I have played: flute, piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, piccolo, cello, viola, and love to jam. You'll have a tough time finding something that I haven't listened to.
Movies are a different story. A Beautiful Mind, Short Term 12, and Into the Wild hold special places in my heart. I'll watch movies, but they don't hold my attention as greatly as conversation. I've got a killer projector though if you want to display a screen!
My favorite non-fiction book is "Godel, Escher, & Bach", GEB for short. GEB talks about a multitude of disciplines (art, math, and music) which are used to describe the phenomenon of metaphor in our perception of consciousness. Right now, I'm finishing up "Bacteria to Bach and Back" and three Oxford handbooks on consciousness, cognitive sciences, and neuroethics. I'll let you know how they are!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not one to say I've done amazing things-- but I have plenty of laughs and stories to share!
Countries I’ve Visited
