Overview
About Me
I am a doctoral candidate at IIT-Delhi. Am a voracious reader and cinephile. I look forward to visiting new places, meet the locals and learn about their culture and pick a sentence or two in their language(s).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It is an interesting platform to meet new people, learn about their country, culture and ways of life. I have met some really amazing people here. Also, exploring a place from the vantage of the locals is the best way to discover and experience it.

Books-
These days mostly non-fiction with a dose of classics and poetry from time to time.
Thomas Hardy, George Orwell, Ernest Hemingway and Ruskin Bond and RK Narayan’s works any day!
Music-
Mostly classic rock, Bollywood music from the 60s-90s. Indie, Punjabi dance numbers and folk the other times.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have explored China with complete strangers, whom I met on the way. Also, I have trekked through remote villages, arched upon by the mighty Himalayas in Uttarakhand, while working on research projects.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Hindi and Kumauni-the local dialect of Kumaun, Uttarakhand; preparing Kumauni food; hook steps of some Bollywood dance numbers.
Learn: About anything and everything that comes my way.
Share: Travel anecdotes from my research; my opinion on movies and books; trivia about things in general.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Can prepare Indian dishes for my hosts and help with other chores in the kitchen. Also, if you want to get suggestions on which movies and which directors to watch, I can be the go-to person.
