About Me

Hey there :)
I am TJ, an International Communications Student from Germany.
In the last 6 years I have been living in and outside of Germany. I lived in New Zealand, Spain and Florida, been traveling to numerous countries like Indonesia, Denmark, Fiji and Scotland, just to name a few. But I always loved to feel at home while traveling and meeting new people from different cultures. I feel like you get a better insight of the country you're traveling to when interacting and bonding with locals. :)
I can speak German, English and Spanish (French is not my strongest suit, seulment un petit peut lol). But I'm always eager to learn new languages and improve the ones I do speak. I've been vegan for almost 3 years now, but I am not a preaching-vegan, so no worries :)
I am very fun to be around, very open-minded (in my presence you don't need to say this might be TMI, the sky is the limit lol), critical-thinking and independent. I always appreciate a glass of wine, talking about life and spontaneous adventures of any kind. I love to be outside and socialize but I also like to spend time by myself. It's all a game of finding the perfect balance. Hopefully we will meet one day and have a positive influence on each others lives. See you soon! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a very lyrical person, so I highly vibe to music that I somehow can relate to but I don't necessarily have a set genre. At the moment I fuck with artists like Childish Gambino, Lily Allen, Pink Sweat$, Jorja Smith, Kendrick Lamar, Dominic Fike, Kate Nash, Travis Scott, John Mayer, Ariana Grande, Tyga (....). But it all changes depending on my mood.
Most of the time I am more of a show-person, than a movie-person I would say? But I love going to the movies as well. I just finished "American Crime Story - Versace" and thought I was a really good show, not only because I adore the director, but because it also addresses life in the 80s/90s, Homophobia, life before social media and all that from a critical sociological point of view.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh wow, that's a tough one, I feel very lucky since I had the opportunity to do so many amazing things lately, so pin-pointing it down to one is pretty hard. But I would say working for the Nato in an International CIMIC exercise as an Interpreter was pretty cool! I got to work in multinational teams with soldiers of different countries, support them during their tasks in terms of information management, as well as intercultural communication.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. So, with every person I meet I learn something new or add something to my knowledge. And the best I can hope for is to do the same for someone else, in a good way. What I can teach you, depends on what you want to learn. So, I guess we will figure that out once we meet in person :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences and my time with you. I would love to get to know the person who offers me accommodation and I would always be happy to show my appreciation throughout cooking a bomb ass vegan meal if you want!
