About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel through Western Europe before starting Eastern Europe!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Malaysia and I have Malaysian nationality and I am a Malaysian by heart. I'm the fourth generation of Chinese from China that migrated in Malaysia. I lived with the Chinese minority community until the age of 12, then shifted to the Malay majority boarding school which used a completely different language than my mother tongue. I worked my way through hundreds of thousands of competitors and I had obtained the Malaysian government's scholarship to continue my study of electronics in France. I am 21 years old and currently in Nice. I enjoy differences and I celebrate similarities.

PHILOSOPHY

1)What you don't know keeps you poor.
2)We are all different but we are all the same.
3)why not give a shot when we have nothing to lose?
4)Human needs clear goal to define his life, and try to take action. Action needs to be taken fast, decisive. We are not always right about our decisions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just started couchsurfing and I had traveled a lot using the couchsurfing network. I attended a meeting in Brussels where the couchsurfers were having a food exchange. I will bring couchsurfers around the regions that I am familiar with, and show them what locals really do in this region.

I surfed:
1) Daniele in Milano

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

You couldn't imagine how nice it is to have a couch after spending one whole night at the railway station! There was one time that we didn't planned a trip good enough and I ended up having no place to sleep, then around 2am the workers in the railway station chased us out because they needed to close the station. We ended up spending one cold night in a small cafe. And the next morning, I went knocking at my host's house (as planned), it was 7.45am in the morning (too early!) and she came out with sleepy eyes, greeted us and we went back to sleep again together until noon! It was unforgettable. Besides that, I have been to several other Belgian couches and they invited me for a dinner trying out typical Belgian food, with Belgian beer and some chocolates. We talked about Belgian politics and ended up drawing a big conclusion about humanity, it was way too fun and I learned a lot of stuff.
-Met a wonderful host in Rome, Gianni, who is so passionate about his city and brought me for a quick tour of Rome, showing me things that normal tourists wouldnt see, like a cafe built on the roman temple.

Interests

I enjoy looking up for things that teenagers of my age don't generally do, and basically not bad things but those which can contribute to my future goals. I love to talk to people who is different from me, and try to point out our differences before finding our common points. I believe that if we are united not only by sharing similarities, but also having tolerance and acceptance about our differences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love slow and light music. I seldom like techno, hip hop and hardrock musics.
I love technical books that teach us practical stuff, like a cook book or a DIY book or a book on how to invest. I love to read bibliography too, I enjoy stories of successful people and I always try to imitate their path.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw Dinosaurs in Brussels museum of natural science, it was a dream come true of my childhood! (I came from a country where dinosaurs were known only through the movie Jurassic park).

Watch the Pope giving his new year speech in 7 languages.

Watch fireworks while celebrating 2011 new year by the Colosseum.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy all kind of people!
