About Me

ABOUT ME

The world is crazy and confusing and I'm having trouble making sense of it.
Also a little too self-aware for my own good sometimes, as will shortly become patently obvious. Sorry.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really have a personal philosophy. Such as it is would be something like "life sucks and then you die," but it doesn't always, sometimes it's really awesome. So my philosophy is that sometimes life sucks, and sometimes it's awesome, and most of the time it's somewhere between, and you do what you can with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have never couch surfed before but I want to. It sounds like fun.

Interests

I like books, movies, and music a lot. I write and read for leisure, for work, and for school. I would stay in school forever if I could, but I can't, so someday I'm going to be a poor journalist or something. I like learning about the world but more often than not I find it debilitatingly terrifying. But that's the way it is, so.
I also like to drink, possibly because I find everything terrifying and drinking mitigates that some. Also it's super fun and you make friends and stuff. "Social lubricant" and whatnot, har har har.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies that don't have a story arc or a climactic moment, that are like a tiny slice of a life and you have the distinct feeling that those lives were happening before you found them and will continue once the movie ends. I like books that hurt. I like music that makes my head feel heavy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just read about the BP oil spill ... that is pretty amazing, though more in a macabre way than I think was expected by the people who made this box.
