About Me
Hola! I'm a 22 year old university student studying Spanish Teacher Education at Illinois State University. I've lived in smalltown America my whole life (Gridley, IL - Pop. 1,000, and Morton, IL - Pop. 16,000) except for one year abroad for an internship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during which I developed a love for traveling and experiencing other cultures. I have a twin brother, older brother, and younger sister. My dad is a marriage counselor and my mom works as an education administrator. In addition to traveling I love music (singing, guitar, piano...not an expert in any of them, but I have the passion if not the talent:)), sports (baseball/basketball/American football - REAL football...JK:)), watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. Other than the U.S., I've been to Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, and Mexico. Looking forward to extending that list and using couchsurfing to do so:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Gonna be honest, my original reason for being interested in couch surfing was the financial aspect; traveling tends to cost money, which isn't something that I, as a university student, have a ton of. But as I spoke to friends who have used couch surfing and perused the website I realize that it's a lot more than a place to stay but rather an awesome community that can be an great way to fully experience other cultures through the people who come from those cultures.
