About Me

(I don't have many reviews here, yet, but you can see 70+ guest reviews on Airbnb: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/6680582)

I enjoy travelling and have traveled across Europe, Africa and North America. I particularly loved Barcelona, Otago New Zealand, Paris, and Austin (TX) because of the history, food, and amazing hospitality. I like to be spontaneous and try not to over-plan my trips - there is something gratifying about an adventure unfurling organically. I've had great luck with hosts giving me tips for new restaurants, clubs, or sites to seek out.

I'm laid back and responsible. My mom taught me to be clean and courteous and I've found being respectful usually wins good company.

When I'm not working or travelling, I like cooking, reading, and watching movies and photography. I worked as a chef for many years in several different countries, including an incredible experience to study under a Michelin-starred chef in Spain and now I own a restaurant in Texas. Food is my love language, my favorite hobby, and a bit of a personal obsession. I can never turn down a good roast duck or solid plate of nachos. I read a lot, two of my favorite books are "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. I love Christopher Nolan's Batman movies and basically anything with Mark Walhberg (yeah - I've got man crush on Marky Mark). I find Netflix a genius invention that brings me closer to all my beloved crime dramas (Law & Order is tops but I can switch it up with a little Sherlock, Numbers, or CSI), dramas (House - 'nuf said) and comedies (lets hear it for the famed NBC sitcom line-up!). If you like scenery and wildlife then we should go shoot photos together and if you're really bored I'll happily show you my favorites.

"I'm a simple man. I like pretty, dark-haired woman and breakfast food."
"Facial hair: full, thick, and square." -- Ron Swanson

I speak English, Spanish, and appalling French.
