About Me

I'm a joyful and sociable person, an optimist by nature. I love reading, good music and movies (mainly psychological drama, documentaries and other sorts giving one some food for thinking). In my free time I also enjoy a long walk out of doors, going out to hikes and picnics, attending a concert of popular music or modern dance, socializing with my friends. I really like a nice intellectual conversation, I think there's nothing like traveling and communication with people from different countries and cultures, as it really makes you more broad-minded. For the future I dream to travel more and learn about the world and its different places, as I know each one is unique. I believe we only live once and should make the most of our life-time :)
For my job I am a free lance translator, tour-guide and business facilitator for foreign visitors and I am currently residing between Kharkov, Ukraine, and Mwanza, Tanzania, for work related reasons. So if you wish to visit either of the two countries you can count on me to show you around :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends, especially here in Africa where I am relatively new (3 years now) and am always interested to socialize with international community. I also look for a short term or long term room-mate to share a lovely 2-bedroom house 10 minutes walk from Mwanza city center by Rock City Mall. I am positive and friendly by nature and get along with people easily. Will also be happy to show around Lake Area (Mwanza and its vicinity) to visitors of town ))))

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any sort of books and movies that give one some food for thought - psychological drama and stories based on real events, eventually a good thriller. Among my favorite books are Three Ages of Okini-San, Thais of Athens, Heart of a Dod, Margaret and the Artist and many others. Among my favorite movies I'd name Too Young to Die, Gone with the Wind, Cat on Hot Tin Roof, The Constant Gardener, Last King of Scotland, etc.. And my musical tastes vary from instrumental to popular depending on my mood. I like such music artists as Marinita, Amel Bent, Zaho, Giorgios Mazonakis, Sheryfa Loona, Amr Diab, Nancy Ajram, Helen Segara - quite an international mix )))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled with various expat jobs/freelancer projects to about 30 countries and lived long term in at least 4 and I find travel the most amazing thing to do in this world as it makes one so much more broad minded.. :)))

Teach, Learn, Share

I think communication with any new person is a process of natural teaching and learning. I can share my travel stories with new friends, and hope to hear their stories. No need to tutor someone in Math or Russian - teaching and learning is just about the skill of TELLING and LISTENING )))

What I Can Share with Hosts

As mentioned above, can share all my travel stories and also cook a few international dishes which I learnt to cook in various countries I visited :)
