About Me
CURRENT MISSION
learn all about the world, well - much of it at least
ABOUT ME
Traveling and working in all different countries has always been my life and I want to show our little 8 year old daughter all different cultures, languages and oceans.
I am a member of Children International and SOS Enfants Nepal-Tibet.
We have god-children in India, Honduras and Ireland. And a tibetan nursery-schoolclass in Nepal.
When I am not actually away traveling I travel in my mind :o)
I LOVE THE OCEAN AND BEING IN IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, snorkeling, surfing and swimming...
PHILOSOPHY
never stop moving - always stay openminded and open to new people; you can never learn enough about the world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to continue receiving lots of guests and meet lots of new people & see lots of new places - lets see...I'm ready - bring it on!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love the concept and I also travel with Hospitality Club which I love, too - so please feel free to check out my profile there for reference under the user-name: flamenco (it says Belgium and Nice because that's where I lived before)
I was in contact with one CS member in Belize and Guatemala but our planning had changed since our daughter got a bit sick so we did not stay at his town and place which seemed great though.
Interests
Languages, Cultures, dancing flamenco & salsa, reading, writing, working with kids, drinking tea, Yoga, Sports (cycling, swimming, running, dive in the ocean) and studying new things/languages/dances/sports, etc.
Traveling !!!!! :
1 year in Asia (India, Nepal, Laos and in general a lot of S-E Asia), another 3 months in India to work with orphans and sick children which I loved, 6 months in Australia & New Zealand and also some months in South and Central America (Peru, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Belize), Mexico, Africa (Cameroon/Nigeria), North Africa (Morocco) and a few times in the US (west, very west, middle, south and east, Hawaii). Hopefully someday soon to our daughter's godmother's country Iran and our god-child in Honduras.
Lived for 2 years in Ireland (Dublin and Rosslare) where we go back twice per year to see our god-daughter & family in Belfast, 3 years in Brussels, many years in France (Paris&Yvelines 2 years, Nice 3 years) before coming back to exotic Belgium.

Music, Movies, and Books
I LOVE music from ALL around the world - especially Cuban/Central/Sth.American, Indian/Asian and Irish music, Indian writers and movies, Irish Writers
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dive with dolphins, sharks and sting-rays (the dolphins & the sharks weren't there at the same time of course ;o) in the open ocean
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love for the people in the world to be more tolerant with eachother and I think hosting and visiting people from all different cultures and backgrounds through CS and other organizations helps to get a little closer to that goal step by step, one day at a time - and that is what I love to teach my 8 year old daughter on top of languages !
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love helping out people wherever they are new, so don't hesitate if you visit or come to live here or anywhere in Belgium (Of course the places I know best are around our town and Brussels but I also can help or try to help eslewhere).

Australia, Belize, Cameroon, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States
