About Me

ABOUT US
Hey! I am Tatiana and this is my husband Dmitry.
We are an international couple of a psychologist and a recruiter. I am from Tallinn and Dmitry is originally from Moscow. I can secretly tell you, that we have met due to a kind of CS guided tour in Tallinn which I have organized for a traveller:)
We share passion for intense and complex trips (for example, 5 countries in a week:) ). We love to discover new places and scratch them off the map (you know those scratch maps, don´t you?!) So the most competitive part starts when we return home from the trip and rush to the map struggling to be the first one to scratch off the new country we have recently been to). We like to think of ourselves as open-minded, friendly, communicative, intellectual, cheerful and creative.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We try to saturate our lives with beautiful memories, new experiences and interesting acquaintances. and for these reasons we are here. So, maybe we could create some great memories together?)

OUR MOTO - TO LIVE OUR LIVES AS A JOURNEY, NOT AS A GUIDED TOUR!
This website helpes to make real journeys from our trips: interesting and deep conversations (not small-talks), real houses with "a view" at natural local life (not boring hotels with their always standard rooms), unique authentic places (not the most popular touristic attractions)...
The best memories are usually connected with the people we met: open-minded and friendly, with the passion for living and travelling - so different, but so similar with us in these features.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Great experience of staying in Berlin, Paris, London, Vienna and interesting acquaintances in other places. Actually, the most memorable moments of our trips are mostly connected with the people we had a pleasure to explore places with.
Most of our couchsurfing experiences (both hosting and being a host) are not reflected in this profile and not all of them were made due to this website but mostly by hapchance. Still, the essence stays the same;)

Interests

I have a passion for psychology, arts, architecture and rollerblading. My husband is deep into his profession - recruitment and job search issues, he is interested in politics and likes bicycles. We both love intense self-made travelling, camping & hiking, live music (jazz and rock), stand up comedy, theatre, boardgames and lively conversations!
I am also an active member of a student sorority of Tartu University and Dmitry and his friend run a conversational English club, where travelers all other the worls are always welcomed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking for three months in Europe at the age of 19. So many great people, so many bright memories! The most extreme part of this trip was the usage of an ordinary tent as our only hotel for all this period. Today, 13 years later, the style of travelling became much more civilized, but my moto stayes the same: To live the life as a journey, not as a guided tour.

More recent crazy experience was visiting 5 cities of 3 different countries at one day (on the 1st of January 2017)-this part of the 3 weeks journey was really intense!))

Teach, Learn, Share

We would like to explore the places not through the standard routes from tourist books but through the eyes and hearts of locals, their perception of their home towns.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be inspired to share my knowledge in the field of psychology-both theoretical and practical ones. Dmitry would be glad to share some tips of job search and other recruitment related issues.
We both love telling and listening to unusual travelling stories/memories and sharing best travelling life-hacks.
I also love to cook, so "cook together" evening is always a great option!

As a host, I like to make guided tours in my home town Tallinn.
