About Me
ABOUT ME
I´ve graduated from 2 universities (management and sociology), was working as sales analyst and sales manager in telecommunication equipment industry for more than 7 years. However, I got tired of being a cogwheel in a bureaucracy machine and quit my job to change my lifestyle. It took quite a time and an effort to pass an intensive course of studies to become an official guide in Saint Petersburg. In 2017 for 6 months I've been a guide on Transsiberian railway Saint Petersburg - Moscow - Beijing and Saint Petersburg - Moscow - Vladivostok.
PHILOSOPHY
Be happy. Don't keep negative inside you or it'll make you rot. Develop your skills and abilities, learn. Get out of your comfort zone. Love. Live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It simply makes travelling different.
Interests
I love learning languages, apart from English and Russian I also speak Spanish and probably in short time I'll start to learn a new one.. I love horse riding and yoga, photography (not as a photograper, more as a model or an observer) and reading. And of course I adore travelling, nothing makes me more excited than inventing, planning and organizing a complicated route for the next trip! I would really love to do some volunteering work in South America or Asia, at the moment it's quite complicated, but I'm working on that :) I'm also developing my project about group travelling around farthest corners of Russia (especially Siberia - Altay, Baikal and Kamchatka) for foreigners (English and Spanish speakers).
Music, Movies, and Books
Rock music, Grunge, not too heavy. Favourite bands are 3 Doors Down, Alter Bridge, Creed, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, Sober etc etc
Movies.. I love Wes Anderson's cinematography, I believe he has an exquisite sense of humor.
Books.. by 7 y.o.I've finished every single book we had at home) Now, unfortunately, I don't have so much free time, and I really appreciate it when I have a moment to read. Russian classics, adventures, fantasy books, sth more existential - depends on the mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A horseback trip in Altay mountains. Such places change your attitude to life.
Did Transsiberian 8 times in 6 months as a guide (around 70000 km of railway in total).
Teach, Learn, Share
The main thing I can share is my knowledge about the city and about Russian culture, also some tips of what to do and what better not, where to go or not to go, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some Russian cuisine, my stories and experience. For example, how to survive on a russian train or how to make a proper borshch soup! ;)
