About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cultivate Curiousity about life.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty laid back, and I like to have all sorts adventures, even if it's only in my own home and kitchen. Pretty inspired by the outdoors, by dancing, by movement practices, by the human body, by birth, by death, and by everything in between.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to help people out when I'm able. And keep an open mind. I also love to connect to people through playing music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurf.comed it, and now I'm hoping to host travelers in my home city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i spent a month surfing on friends couches before going traveling, and them I went couch surfing at my friends' family's homes on the east coast. I couched surfed in Portland, ME through couchsurfing.com and it was great!

Interests

I LOVE MUSIC. I love to sing and dance. And trees, and being outdoors, and cooking, especially baking bread. I'm a huge fan of fresh fruits and vegetables and any exciting dish that can be made with them. I'm a massage therapist and Birth Doula. I'm also a Iyengar Yoga student. I love to dance the 5 rhythms, and sweat my prayers. Nature awes and inspires and exercises me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I play the violin (sometimes I even manage to fiddle), the guitar, in a mainly folky, bluegrassy kind of way. Movies: I've been pretty behind on seeing movies of late, but some films that are a favorite are: A Fish Called Wanda, Monsoon Wedding, Amelie, Singing in the Rain, Wayne's World.
Books: Dharma Bums, God of Small things, Cold Comfort Farms, Cat's Cradle, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met all sorts of wonderful and kind people volunteering in post-Katrina New Orleans. It was here that I got bit by the travel bug and the desire to help people out. I saw the sun rise over the atlantic, which being from the Pacific Northwest is quite amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Bread making, violin playing, soup making. I can teach the basics of speaking French.
