I (Tara) was born and raised in Alaska, USA and Crystal was born in Washington, USA and lived with me in Alaska for 5 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Our main goal is meeting locals and eating traditional dishes, making friends, and lastly having an open heart about everything makes all the difference! Couchsurfing has changed our lives!

We both have had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience hosting 10+ single/groups of travelers in Alaska, USA and Australia, and it really has already been such a great way to meet new people and talk of travels, exchange advice on what to see, where to go in the future.

Interests

Softball, volleyball, soccer, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking, sky diving, bungee jumping (havent tried but hope to this year), paint balling, shooting guns, mini golf, camping, eating foods from all over the world, traveling, musicals, ballet, opera, reading occasionally, piano, trying anything new really!

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love all different types of music, we're very big fans of country, and I (Tara) love musicals. Same with movies, We love all genres. And as for books, the last we've read together were 'Brian's Winter' and 'Percy Jackson' series (3rd one)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I (Tara) have traveled to many countries now, most of which have been in Europe. Some include: The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Romania, Greece, Italy, France, England, Ireland, Germany, South Korea, and Canada :)

And most recently my wife and I went to Japan, South Korea, China, India, and Nepal, and Australia in 2016. And in 2017-2018 we have added Tazmania, Thailand, Loas, Cambodia, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.

Teach, Learn, Share

I (Tara) can teach intros to massage, what I know. I really love to cook and have been told I am pretty good at it :) Also, we both can sew, a little crochet, pretty average with technology, very outdoorsy, willing to try most anything, and learn anything along the way too !

What I Can Share with Hosts

My time, talk travels, snacks, and If you're lucky I might be able to pick you up! Just need to give me a heads up ;)

We both are good at carrying on conversation, or if need be we can be quiet and keep to ourselves.

We love the outdoors and are always out and about.
