About Me

I love to discover and learn about new things, aquire new skills, laugh and connect :-)
I grew up in Germany, travelled to India numerous times right from childhood, followed up by long stays in New Zealand and Japan as well as slow travels to Thailand and within Europe (Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, UK), and the USA.
I worked as professional interpreter for Japanese for over a decade, am into the field of intercultural and life coaching and like empathic, non-violent communication. I enjoy connecting dots in spontaneous and creative ways and engage in "experimental" projects like "worldschooling", travelling tandems, child/adolescent-led education. I like to be on par with people of any age and background.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I think it is a fantastic idea and something the world needs: Connecting, understanding each other, sharing, caring, learning. Lively opportunities in which money plays no role. And I just love to travel and discover cultures through the eyes of friendly, open-minded "locals".

Interests

Read inspirational stuff, photography, yoga, communicate in different languages, meditation and mindfulness as well as minimalism. Share stories and connect with others, explore new things, write about and reflect life and change perspectives.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Rock and pop, also enjoy German lyrics. Siddhartha, autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered on an organic permaculture farm with Buddhist background in Thailand.
'Do one thing every day that scares you.'

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to be an interpreter for German and Japanese and moved on to be an intercultural leadership coach and facilitator for self-directed learning. So if anyone wants to tap into that, you are more than welcome.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A curious mind that likes to think, discover, play, laugh, listen and to have fun conversations in English, German, Spanish and Japanese. EFT tapping, share experiences and ideas about self-directed learning, and just being present and supporting people where needed. Also: Doing yoga together and playing carrom.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Iceland, India, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom
