About Me

I love to travel because of the amazing things there are to see and learn from people around the world! I am a quiet person but at talker! I enjoy one on one time with people or small groups over large groups. I like history, art- visual and theatre, music and learning to cook new foods. All things fruit are wonderful! I come from a Dutch background and am most comfortable in warm Spanish speaking countries. Latin American culture has clicked with me. I am on a journey of figuring out what I want to do with my life... I have found that becoming a grown up has happened to quickly and so I seek inspiration as I discover where I want to make my home and what career it is I will embrace. In the mean time helping people is what I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have come to Europe and am struggling to figure out how to see the places on my list of place to see. I did not realize how large Europe actually is and how lonely it is to travel alone. Usually I travel in a work or Church group, or go to an organization. Here though, I am on my own attempting to see European countries through the eyes of the locals. This is where couchsurfing comes in.... I need to meet locals.

Interests

I enjoy learning to cook new foods. I like to explore new cities and go for walks....spending time outdoors is great. I enjoy meeting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love old black and white films, documentaries and independant films. Charles Dickens is one of my favourite authors. I love to listen to live swing music, orchestras and piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing truly is a relative term. What to me was amazing when I was 15 no longer is amazing to me now, for example. However, the amount of traveling I have been able to do does amaza me and I am so greatful for each of my experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I just go my certification to teach English as a second language. So I can help others practice the language. I can share friendship ... mutual interests I am sure will come out as people get to know one another and from that point oppotunities to teach, learn and share from one another will arise.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some company of course, a cooked meal, a taste for Canadian cultre.
