Hello! My name is Tara Swanson and I am currently living in Extremadura, Spain. I initially came to Spain after graduating college, in hopes of improving my Spanish and travelling, and now it is a new home and I can't imagine living anywhere else. I spend the fall, winter, and spring being totally frantic and sleep deprived, but in the summer months I love to explore and I am really enjoying living in a much more accessible corner of the world.

I chose to join cs because I love to meet new people and I have been so fortunate to have made incredibly fulfilling relationships while scooting around various places, and I would like to continue to do this as I spend more time in Europe. Seeing new places is always exciting, but what has really been gratifying about the experience is the relationships that are formed.

The most satisfying part of travelling, for me, has been the quality of relationships that are cultivated while I have been abroad. Unless I am coming off of either end of the school year (transitions...!) I can promise lots of conversation and a pretty sturdy ability to drink wine/beer for extended periods of time. In addition, I am almost always hungry, so I pinky swear to be prepared with a prepacked baggie of raw almonds so you don't see angry-hangry-taradactyl, but also I would love to cook with you/for you or exchange recipes. So long as this activity can be accompanied by wine and broadway scores.
