About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To complete my 101 in 1001 list!

ABOUT ME

At times I find it pointless to write things about myself because it is all a matter of opinion and of course I have a biased opinion of myself. Then again if someone is going to invite me into their house a description could be helpful. I am for the most part laid back, but at times a bit opinionated. I love to learn about and listen to people's life stories, but my shyness often inhibits me from asking... so please share with me! I think carpe diem is the best phrase ever coined and attempt to live by it, but am really good at getting caught up in the details of life.

PHILOSOPHY

Live simply so others may simply live.
Critically think, question everything
Be happy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this, but have heard so many wonderful things come from it, I thought I would give it a try. I am also currently studying abroad, making it a perfect time in my life to try it out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

vicarously through several of my friends who have told me their couchsurfing adventures. I hope to have my own soon!

Interests

I love absolutely everything about the outdoors and am most content when I am out of the house. Running has become my passion whether it being competing or just for fun. Nothing is greater than a long run on Sunday morning in the summer. I also enjoy reading, but can't pin point exactly what type of reading. In general I love to learn.
I have worked for several summers as a mainstream sumemr camp counselor, helping kids with disabilities... ask me about it! I get really excited whenver I talk about it. It is probably the most fun and rewarding job I could ever imagine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I sometimes think I grew up in a box as there are few things I can tell anyone about popular music or movies. However, I enjoy both. Music is beautiful and a great outlet, I love hearing new music. As for movies I enjoy bad 80's chick flicks, the occasional documentary, and a few comedies. Books are wonderful, but my favorite? I love the Harry Potter series, The Giver, The Kite Runner, oh the list could go on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two weeks studying on the Navajo reservation in the South West US. I participated in a sweat lodge ceremony, helped rebuild traditional housing, and met many wonderful people. I love the Navajo culture and way of life. It was also eye opening and devastating to see the poverty that exists in the U.S.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't say that I have many specialized skills, but I do love to cook and would love to swap recipes... especially anything vegetarian.
I know the basics of knitting, not a pro by any means but can teach you how to make a scarf and of course if you know how to knit I would love to learn a few tips.
