About Me
~~~
I love foreign languages and want to learn them all! A little bit about my traveling, so far I've mostly traveled places with a mission. Japan is the place I've gone to explore without a program, etc.
I've been studying Japanese on and off for years (highlight on and off! Ha 😅) and went to Japan for two months in 2010. I finally made my way back in summer 2017!
I also went to Russia in 2012 for a volunteer trip and in doing so I found a serious passion for working with children. I want to return to Yaroslavl and work in the shelters and orphanages I visited. These two trips have ignited my passions to learn, teach, and travel.
August of 2015, I spent a few weeks in Sweden with my best friend WWOOFing in Ludvika. We also got to meet awesome people through couchsurfing in Uppsala. This trip totally solidified my romanticism of Sweden as a country.
In 2016 I taught English at SEAMEO RETRAC's Summer Fun program in Saigon, Vietnam for 7 weeks. That trip was profound for me. I could live in Vietnam in a heartbeat SAIGON FOREVER <3
Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is endless. I really love 50's, 60's, and 70's music gobally. I generally like most rock and heavy music from classic rock to black metal, electronic music from lo-fi to 8-bit. I enjoy western classical music, opera, enka, chason, jazz, big band, 90's pop, Russian pop, Visual Kei, and the list goes on.
Movies are too endless. Top movies I would say are: Castle of Caliostro, Casablanca, Stripes, Coming to America, Some like it Hot, Naussica of the Valley of the Wind, Perfect Blue, Grease, American Graffiti.......
Books: The Outsiders, Grotesque, The Year of Living Biblically, The Uglies Series, Hardcore: Life on My Own, Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Fledgling....
