About Me

I've lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere my whole life. We have pigs, chickens, cows, turkeys, ducks, cats and dogs. I was home-schooled for 6 years and was encouraged to learn about everything that interested me.
I like organic stuff and natural living. I'm very interested in homesteading/back to nature. I hope to travel the world then come back and raise a family on my own farm :)

I love eating. Just saying haha.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people from around the world :) (and of course save some money doing it!) When I was little I had an old map and I knew the countries by color even before I could read. Travelling is something I've always wanted to do and I can't wait to start :) I'd love to host people from other countries and teach them about farming.

(Just a note, but I can't host people who are just looking for a free place to stay during hunting season. )

Interests

I like reading, crocheting, animals, working out, baking/cooking, building things, taking pictures, learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pretty much any music except death metal and jazz. I read every spare minute I have. I like all movies except horror (but I've actually never watched one because I wasn't allowed when I was growing up and I just never started). I like classic movies a lot. I still love Disney but I also love action movies :D I also love old movies (like Audrey Hepburn)

Favorite shows ever are Lost and Sherlock; also love Doctor Who but I haven't watched all the episodes yet :(

Don't make me pick a favorite book!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, this isn't exactly the answer you're expecting, but I looked after my Grandma for 2 years when her Alzheimer's became really bad and she couldn't live alone. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever done but I'm glad I was able to be there for her. She was an amazing woman and she deserved to be looked after in the home she lived in for 50 years, by someone who loved her. It definitely impacted my life plans, because I planned on travelling when I was a lot younger, but I will never regret it.

More recently -- volunteered in a Peruvian orphanage. I still miss the kids every day and plan to go back soon <3

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good cook :) I can make you some Nanaimo bars (awesome Canadian chocolate square thingies)
I can clean up around the house, help you practice English, teach you to knit or crochet, whatever you want. I can babysit if you need me to.
