About Me

My name is Tarik hamza and I'm 22 years old, from London. I recently graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in civil engineering. I've spent the last 4 months travelling through South America , and to date, have visited Brazil , Argentina , Chile , Bolivia , Peru and Colombia. Amongst South America, I've travelled through a lot of Europe and now want to do a extend the list of places I've been to by travelling through the west coast of the states.

Throughout my time here I've met many people from the US, specifically California , who have encouraged me to visit the states and drive through highway 1. I've met some cool people from the states and this is one of the reasons I want to coachsurf with a local. Also, I don't have too much time in each city I will visit and so thought it would be best to stay with a local for recommendations of places to eat, to see and so on.

I'll be arriving in San Diego on the 11th of August and will be driving through highway 1, going through the main cities. If we have time to chill together, I'd love to hear your experiences and stories, and who knows , maybe we can go out together.

I'm a very easy person to get along with and respect all house rules. I understand that many people hosting surfers will want there place to be kept clean; this is not a problem for me and will promise to clean up after myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On coach surfing to meet locals and integrate myself more into the culture of the area I'm in.

Interests

I like going out and seeing new places. I like partying in cool venues. I like reading in my spare time. I like doing things that challenge me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: My favourite book has to be Marching Powder. It's a non fictional book about Thomas Macfadden , a cocaine trafficker who was set up by the police in Bolivia during one of his operations and was sent to Bolivias notorious prison, San Pedro jail. The book is about his experiences in prison, which at times can be hard to read.

Film: My favourite film is probably batman: dark knight rises. Big fan of Heath ledger in the film.

Music : anything that sounds good haha. Have no personal preference.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered at an orphanage in Peru. Taught English to underprivileged children for a month.
