About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"I'd rather dance in ugly pants in the comfort of a lounge room in suburbia" [Regurgitator]
ABOUT ME
I always want to try every new activity I come across. I prefer getting involved rather than sitting on the sidelines and always have a fear of missing out!
I have a background in acting/directing and am working on a pathway towards using these skills to work with people with mental disabilities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Whilst traveling through Europe in 2006/07 I was an active Hospitality Club member. I slept on couches, shared rides, met groups at festivals, in pubs and for potluck dinners. A few years after settling back in my hometown of Perth, Australia, I joined Couchsurfing (Hospitality Club had ceased to exist) and became an occasional host and tour guide to pay it forward.
I moved to Sydney 6 years ago to study and am now ready to travel again. Hoping to find some couches and friends in the United States and Canada. It's been a while, but I'm hoping this community is still as awesome as I remember!
Interests
Logging into a profile I haven't used since I was 24.... I just deleted "beer" and "clubbing" as interests and replaced them with "theatre" and "good conversation". Turning 30 has changed me!
I like a whole bunch of outdoor activities and also enjoy hanging out at home, eating food and playing board games! Home cooked meals are my favorite and I can eat a surprising amount for a petite person.
*disclaimer - having an interest in the above activities does not necessarily mean I am skilled at all of them
- film making
- dancing
- boating
- music
- cycling
- hiking
- camping
- skateboarding
- swimming
- beaches
- theatre
- good conversation
Music, Movies, and Books
MOVIE: Boys Don't Cry
BOOKS: Plays, my bookshelf is full of plays
MUSIC: Anything funk/jazz/soul. Blue King Brown, Warpaint, Elton John, Placebo, Johnny Cash, Pink, Cat Power, Holly Miranda, Massive Attack
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At 21, a last minute couch surf during a weekend in London turned into me sleeping on my new friend's floor for a few months. The host and I got on fabulously and I was quickly convinced to quit my miserable small town job and re-locate to London.
I promise not to stay that long at your place!! :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to swim. I can teach you how to dance like you don't care. I can read you some Shakespeare. I can show you how to fall off a skateboard(maybe you can give me some lessons on that one).
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you offer me a couch, I am happy to share a home-cooked meal and swap life stories, or hang out and do fun activities/go sightseeing.
I am equally happy to offer polite pleasantries and make myself inconspicuous if that's what you'd prefer :)
I am a very neat, tidy and respectful guest!
