Hi! I'm Taryn, a 22 year old from the US! After living in different parts of the US and graduating from college, I applied for and received a fellowship to travel for a year! I am an aspiring cheesemaker traveling around the world for a year trying the cheeses and foods of all the countries I visit! I love to meet people passionate about their interests as I love learning from others!

As I've just graduated from college and moved out of dorms, I've never had the opportunity to host, but I'm looking forward to hosting once I return to the US and move to Pittsburgh!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love learning from and meeting new people. I see Couchsurfing as a great way to meet people I otherwise would never cross paths with. What's the point of traveling if you never meet anyone?

Music, Movies, and Books

I love fantasy and historical fiction novels! Some of my favorites are Mists of Avalon, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, and The Red Tent. I also read a lot of books about agriculture.

As for music, I grew up surrounded by country music and can't shake my love for songs about dirt roads and old dogs (please don't hold it against me), but I also listen to a lot of Roots and Folk music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Anyone remember that old iPhone game DoodleJump? I was once on the global high score list. Not a skill for a cv but a silly something I'm still inordinately proud of :)
