ABOUT ME

Taryn: I would describe myself as an easy going, fun, curious person with a passion for traveling to see the world, meet interesting people and gain new experiences. The best decision I made in life was studying abroad in Australia where I caught the traveling bug and have tried to do as much as possible since I graduated college in 2009. I enjoy many things in life including camping, hiking, volleyball, snowboarding, dancing, live music, photography, seeing the ocean from all sides (including from below), reading, learning and just having a great time with whoever I am with.

Megan: I am an outgoing and open-minded lady with an interest in learning how others live across the world. I just finished graduate school in Berkeley, California where I was working with children with emotional and behavioral challenges. I am passionate about social justice and equality issues and welcome all opinions on those topics. During my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, attending music festivals and listening to live music, traveling, dancing, cooking, eating, capturing moments on camera, and spending quality time with loved ones.

PHILOSOPHY

Megan: I believe in multiple versions of every story, paying it forward, trying anything once before passing judgment, looking at the bright side, letting go, living in the present, random acts of kindness, and being in charge of my own happiness. I believe you only have one life to live so it should be lived fully with an open mind and heart, taking all experiences as opportunities for self growth!

Taryn: No one really knows why we were put on this earth but I believe taking a good look around could only give us more clues! Seeing the world and making connections gives a perspective on life that is invaluable and necessary for happiness. I believe in having strength and resilience during life's hard balls and trying to laugh through it all!

Completing a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology

Being a daughter, sister and friend

Surviving the death of a close family member while maintaining myself, learning from it, and taking away the positives

Megan:
Completing a Masters degree in Social Work (20 years of schooling straight!)

Walking 72 kilometers and thousands of stairs to reach Machu Picchu

Participating in the Burning Man community (8 days of self-survival in the harshest conditions!)

Standing up for my beliefs even when odds were stacked against me!

I can teach you how to make balloon animals! I would love to learn more about photography, cooking, dancing, history of your country, etc.

Megan:
I can teach you how to play soccer and cook a killer Mexican feast! I can share my knowledge of current social justice issues effecting California's progress. I want to learn about the people in your country and the challenging issues they face. I want to learn about your skills or hobbies I know nothing about.
