CURRENT MISSION

To (uncharacteristically) fly by the seat of my pants on a whirlwind trip to New Zealand (and likely Australia), conquering as many couches as humanly possible!

ABOUT ME

Yeaahhh. About me... ummm...

I started working the day after I finished University (a great thing at the time) and never took the time to do the whole back-packing-across-the-world-after-school thing, so only now am I finally taking the time to do it (sort of). I'm reminded by those around me who are venturing into their house-buying, pet-owning, childbearing years that I should take advantage of a time in my life that finds me free of any major responsibilities or commitments!

PHILOSOPHY

"There are 2 kinds of divers - those who pee in their wetsuits and those who lie about it." I don't know how that pertains to life or even to me personally, but it just sticks, you know?!

I'm brand new to CouchSurfing.com. Though, it seems like an awesome place and I'm happy to be here - looking forward to meeting new people and possibly building some new lifelong friendships! And, I look forward to judging you by the type of couch you possess. (Don't be intimidated - I don't even own my own couch!) ;)

Interests

I've recently become certified as an open water diver so that's a definite interest and I plan to put that skill to use right away! I also enjoy spinning, ultimate frisbee and generally being physically active. The last couple of years I've opened myself up to trying new activities/sports/hobbies, though mostly for comedic effect!

Also, I'm a huge fan of music (various genres and in various forms). And travel. And ice cream. And photography. And cake. And couches.

MUSIC!!! So much good stuff. I'm currently listening to: Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, Ray LaMontagne, Jack Johnson, Dandy Warhols, Coldplay, Radiohead, Architecture in Helsinki, Robyn, Devendra Banhart, Sigur Ros, The Verve/Richard Ashcroft, The Strokes, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and just a sprinkling of top-40, pop-y, r&b stuff here and there to round it all out.

I hate 80s retro so please don't invite me to your 80s retro dance party - even if it's taking place on your couch!
