ABOUT ME

I am the kind of person that will hold a door open for anyone (but "hate people when they're not polite":). I like to enjoy the finer things in life and by that I don't mean the usual trio of suspects - fancy restaurants, expensive wines and posh hotels, but family and friends, connecting with strangers and fast motorcycles, oops, I mean spontaneous generosity (kind of like Scrooge at the end of A Christmas Carol). I also enjoy both types of humour: Dry (witty) and Wet (where you piss yourself laughing) and like bright people; especially when they're bright enough to let you figure that out for yourself. And if you hadn't noticed, I'd rather be silly than uptight.

I'm also very passionate about this planet ... hope you are too! Remember, Mother Nature rules!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just getting started, officially, although I have couchsurfed and hosted extensively in the past, before it had an actual website dedicated to it. I love to meet new people and love the exchange of ideas, especially with folks who are passionate about what they do.

兴趣

Music is a huge passion ... I am so happy to be alive right now and hearing some of the best music ever made. I love a lot of the older stuff too, but I believe in looking forward instead of back.
Living in Vancouver the mountains and the water are both huge draws ... whenever the weather permits, the hiking boots are on and I'm off to the Chief or the Grind.
Footy is also something I live and breathe - don't play so much anymore, but am a regular at a local coffee bar for the 5am EPL matches.

Movies: Love and Anarchy and other wonderful Italian films ... annnnd anything by Emir Kusturica (Black Cat White Cat), who has kind of picked up where the Italians left off. Mr Almodovar also floats my boat so that should give you some clues as to where my mind's at. I sorta stopped going to the movies after working in the film industry for a while (spoiled the magic) so just getting the habit back in fits and spurts. One big fit was getting a pass for the recent local film fest and gorging on some amazing films - fiction and documentaries.

If I could only chose one book it would be In The Skin Of A Lion by Michael Ondaatje

I have travelled a lot, and I have fished commercially on the very wild and very beautiful BC coast for 20 years, but the most amazing experience of my life was being a father - still is!
