About Me

I love being out in nature, something about it makes me feel at peace with the world and myself.

I love making and listening to music, especially songs that really sing to my soul (I know that sounds really cheesy but it's true!). I play the violin and love to play folk music, especially at festivals I go to with my family every year.

I like drawing and creating things, especially making jewellery and gifts for people.

I like to look after my body and keep active, eating well and exercising, (cycling, swimming, yoga and other things). Meditation helps me keep my head clear.

I graduated last year from university and am about to start a PhD in astro/atmospheric chemistry, looking at the atmospheric impacts of a close cometary flyby.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great idea! and as my boyfriend and I are about to go interrailing around Europe for a month I thought it would be a good chance to get involved. We can't accept guests to our home at the moment (we're living in a small flat with the parents!) but we are moving out soon and so we should be able to host once we have our new place sorted.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very eclectic music taste! I like everything from rock to folk music, electronic, drum n bass, reggae, funk, soul... anything that has a good beat, tune or feel to it.

I love anything that gets me dancing. Live music is the best.

I like psychological films, and things that make you think! But also I am a sucker for a good comedy, animation or romance too. I have a terrible memory so these are by no means my top films but a few I really enjoyed- Interstellar, Memento, Looper, Inception, Children of men, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Anything from Studio Ghibli- my neighbour Totoro, the Cat Returns, Princess Mononoke, Howl's moving Castle :)

Books: Harry Potter! :P m reading the Upanishads at the moment and really enjoying it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My recent trip to Morocco - so many incredible sunsets! The Atlas mountains, Paradise Valley, sitting at the top of a gigantic sand dune in the Sahara desert and watching the sunset. Meeting beautiful people in this beautiful country <3

Jumping from a plane at 14000 feet and landing on the beach in Australia.

Playing the violin in the Albert Hall with an orchestra when I was younger and accompanying a 1000 strong choir.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think everyone can teach and learn something to/from everyone they meet. Life is one big learning curve.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I am a warm and friendly person and I can get on well with most people. I am also a good cook (I think so anyway :P)
