Overview
About Me
I grew up on Vancouver Island, Canada and having travelled recently I’ve now been able to really appreciate the beauty of my own home. This has inspired me to travel more and appreciate new cultures and landscapes and the temptation of travel has only grown stronger; I hope to discover as much as I can!
I’m quite a social person and love the company of friends and fellow travellers to share conversation, ideas and philosophies. Food and drink are a big part of my life and I’ve always appreciated other culture's cuisines. I love to explore the outdoors and you will often find me near the ocean or generally gallivanting around the countryside!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to Couchsurfing but with my growing passion for travel I am excited to gain more experience! The main reason I am Couchsurfing is to meet new people with the same interests while seeing more of the world. It also gives me a big opportunity to share cultures and activities while being able to travel further, making friends of all backgrounds along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music I am very open minded and like almost anything; I’m always looking for something new! I love to read and always enjoy true stories, basically anything involving drama or emotions (right now I am reading the
Game of Thrones series)! It seems my ‘must read list’ just keeps growing.
I absolutely love horror films although the ones that scare me are few and far between (I seem to be an adrenaline rush junky)! I also love a good thriller, comedy or again films based on reality including documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Definitely a nine hour hike up a dormant volcano close to Antigua, Guatemala! It was one of the most difficult hikes I have ever done (up loose ashy dirt for most of the way) but was the most fulfilling experience as I was right next to an active volcano ‘Fuego’ which I had the privilege of hearing and seeing erupt all through the night! After watching a beautiful sunrise from the summit I skied down the ash to a well-deserved cup of steaming hot coffee!
I am truly enthralled from what I’ve experienced and can now really appreciate the many different beautiful cultures and countries of the world. It has also given me the ability to open my mind up to so many possibilities. This last year has given me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone; my initial perspectives of the countries I’ve visited have changed and I hope to see as much as I can!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been fond of cooking most of my life and love to share different recipes and styles. I am also quite knowledgeable with natural remedies used in cooking and medicine as well as general nutrition and would love to exchange ideas with people who may be interested. Alongside with that I’m continuing to learn Spanish and in return I’m happy to help with English.
