ABOUT ME

I'm an English and German teacher. That's what I do for a living. As for my free time, I'm interested in everything and try not to miss opportunities to learn something new. At the moment I'm particularly fond of painting, Spanish and yoga. I live with my husband Pavel, so I'm trying to be a good wife at the same time:) I'm a vegetarian and I enjoy cooking a lot. As for my husband, he is an actor and a musician (he plays the guitar and sings). So, jams are always welcome in our home.

Ich bin eine Englisch- und Deutschlehrerin. Das is meine Arbeit. Also, Jams sind immer herzlich willkommen in unserem Haus.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophies are shared in long night-time kitchen talks:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A big part of traveling is meeting new people. At the moment we can't travel much. So, hosting others feels very much like traveling without leaving home)
If you are from a neighboring town and registered yesterday because you've just found out about CS as an alternative to a hostel, please, don't ask for a stay. CS is about equal sharing. Not a free overnight. First think if you are a really interesting person and what you can give us in terms of communication.
For a similar reason we don't host people who are younger than 25. Nothing personal. As the experience has shown it, we just lack things in common with the youngsters and it's not interesting for us.

Teach, Learn, Share

Meeting new people, especially those belonging to a different culture, always teaches us something new. Most importantly, we become more open-minded. I guess, that's the main point. But as for practical things, here's the list:
1) I happened to have been learning foreign languages all my life, but of course I don't speak them equally well. English was my first FL, so for me it is like my native Russian and I speak it every day. I started learning German much later, mastered it when I was living a year in Germany. I don't teach or speak it daily and it goes away quite fast. Spanish is my third FL, I've been learning it for a year and I am only intermediate so far. So, I would especially welcome native German- and Spanish-speakers. However, my husband Pavel speaks only basic English and he'd like to practice it.
2) I'd love to share my vegetarian cooking experience and pick up some new recipes from you:)
3) Pavel is a musician and loves jamming with people.

Me gustaria hablar español y cocinar juntos. A Pavel le gustaria hablar ingles y tocar musica juntos.
