About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I wish I knew.

ABOUT ME

I came to the conclusion that objectivity is not a function of age. So I'll still try to be objective.
It is not true any more that my sister loves me more than anything else, because she now has a wonderful, no further describable little baby boy. Some people would still say I'm a nasty boy (I guess this last thing won't change).
I miss my friends in Cardiff. Almost all my friends in Italy are married, they used to say I'm too self-assured but brilliant at the same time; most of them eventually replaced "self-assured" by "stupid" and "brilliant" by "mad". Someone claims I'm calmer, I'll have a thought on this quietly. My mum understood that what she saw as "asshole" and "selfish" mostly means "realistic" and "efficient". "Cynical" and "down to earth" fit very well too. I believe in a few things. I like to believe in a lot of things, including that wasps are actually a mistake on the evolutionary chain and have no meaning whatsoever. I love bees but I am still far from letting them replace my actual beard. I love to kiss Ieva. I have a lot of unanswered questions. I have a lot of useless answers I used to collect to impress people when I was younger. Now I should make room in my hard drive. I'm happy when I cook and eat. I quit my old job a few months ago, just when I was about to understand what it was about. Just on time before gaining too much knowledge. I got very quickly into my new one, it seems to make more sense. Ieva gives me all the strength in the world. I see myself in the mirror very differently every day. We have made it to Zürich with a stopover in Japan. We have found a place to live but not yet a place for ourselves in this city. We hope it won't take too long. No one calls my nephew "Edo" and this is good. I'll update this section, together with more pictures.

PHILOSOPHY

In case of cabin pressure loss, fix your oxygen mask first, then help other passengers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At some point I thought I'd have been totally devoted to couchsurfing, but then I followed the philosophy to do what I can do at my best: being a good guest and a good host, did it a lot of times and I do it any time I can. I spent three weeks at the Montreal Collective tho, and it was a fantastic experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Check the connections' details.

Interests

Mathematics and all one can do with it. Sport, done and followed, in all its possible variations. Food, wine and all one can do with them. Keeping my brain active. Listening to Ieva. Arguing with her with the hope we will agree sometimes. Separate deep blue from shallow streams. Being able to swim in both cases.

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to list an endless bunch of cool titles to impress people when I was younger, and they are still part of the useless answers I have. Eventually I went through most of them again during the years and now I think I can consciously explain why I prefer "Nausea" to "The stranger" and things like this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Kafka Museum, Prague.
Crying at my sister's wedding.
To be kicked out of a pub in Montreal for having a beer shower after the last penalty kick on 9/7/2006.
The fifth floor of Le Musee D'Orsay, Paris.
Taking my dad to Wimbledon, Court no.1 .
Waiting for Ieva in the middle of an unknown (to both) town with a bunch of flowers I arranged to buy in a language I can't speak.
My nephew dancing.
The MOMA in NYC.

Teach, Learn, Share

Despite my "extensive teaching experience" (quoting my professional CV), my most successful classes still are "How to burp artificially I", "How to burp artificially II" and "How to survive (2 people) 48 hours with just 200 grams of pasta, one carrot, half lemon and 7 eurocents" (Thanks a lot Roberto for the last one).

Countries I’ve Visited
