CURRENT MISSION

Recently I've started a small photobook publishing collective together with my friend, so working a lot now on its numerous projects, publishing photobooks and participating in photobook festivals and fairs around Europe.
Also my plan for this year is to have an internship in Paris and by the end of the academic year to write my master thesis in photography and get the diploma!

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Tanya, I lived in Saint-Petersburg, Russia for six years before I left for Czech Republic to continue my studies of photography. Now I am applying to the universities in Paris and learning French. So, we'll see what happens next!
I think I'm calm and modest. I'm more introvert then extravert, but I easily get along with people. I like frank people, openness and sincerity always attracts me.
I love movies (especially French ones), love music, and, of course, I am a fan of traveling. I love to explore new places on my own, but I also find it very interesting and important to get to know local people who can tell about their country, who knows the secret places that tourists can never find by themselves!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first Couchsurfing experience was outstanding, so I became a fan of CS from the first stay. I realized that CS is a unique invention that gives an invaluable possibility to travel more and to get to know people better that you could before. I stayed with CS people in Milano, Paris, in Venice, Munich, Berlin, Rome, Padova and I hosted people in Czech Republic. I was always happy and very lucky with all my hosts! I realized that all you need for discovering the best things of the world and for meeting wonderful people is just to dare to go :)

Interests

My main interests are documentary and art photography, contemporary art, movies and I like music. I've been always dreaming about traveling, but haven't succeeded much in it so far ) working on it right now!:))
I earn my living doing photography on commission. But in my spare time also I can't stop taking snapshots with my film camera )
I like learning something new, I want to learn other foreign languages (now French and Italian are the first in the list)- and I'd like to do this communicating with native speakers!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like mostly electronic music, house, techno, dub step and mixtures of different styles. Flying Lotus, Machinedrum, The Knife, Cristal Castles, City Garden Movement, The XX, and many others.
Movies: now I prefer to watch French movies and try to learn and understand the language.
I love François Truffaut, Louis Malle, Philippe Garrel, François Ozon, Christophe Honoré, Xavier Dolan, Guillaume Canet,Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
Americans: Jim Jarmush, Tim Burton, John Cassavetes and many many others! (too many to write the whole list)
