Hello! I'm a 2nd year master's student from Oregon studying art history and museum studies. I can talk your ear off about art and ancient Mediterranean cultures for hours. That being said, I'm not verified because I'm a broke graduate student.

I'm originally from California (both NorCal and SoCal) but I've also lived in Missouri in Texas. I enjoy visiting new places, everything from touristy and high volume sites/cities to more remote areas. I like to appreciate things everywhere I go and find beauty and happiness in small things.

That being said, I love meeting new people and getting to know what makes people tick and what they're passionate about. I'm excited to get to know you as a host!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm going on a research trip in NYC and Rome in September! This is my first international solo trip as an adult and I'm very excited (and nervous). It is a trip funded by my department, but I would prefer to couch surf and genuinely meet and connect with cool people instead of checking in at a desk!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I go through phases and try to educate myself on things that were, either at some point or currently, popular. Very excited to also be near Brooklyn during hip hop's 50th anniversary!

Books: I read a lot of nonfiction, but only because I haven't had a ton of time recently to indulge in fiction. When reading fiction, I prefer historical dramas, sci-fi, horror, or mystery.

Movies: I love film/cinema! I'm not a snob—there are days I will indulge in watching purposefully bad movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw Mao Zedong's body in Beijing as a teenager. His right ear is blackened but he's in pretty good shape for being dead for a bit.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've never done this before so I'm not entirely sure what to offer. Positivity, good company, I can also assemble furniture or do little tasks around the house/errands for you (cleaning, making dinner, putting together that shelf from IKEA you keep procrastinating on, etc.).
