My name is Taylor and I looove to travel :) I am a waitress on Vancouver Island, Canada. I like to be outdoorsy- hiking makes my soul happy and hanging by the ocean might just be one of my favourite things to do. I've travelled to The USA, Mexico, Tanzania, Thailand, India, Spain and Morocco. I'm leaving for Ecuador this month, so that will be my fifth continent :) Living out of a backpack comes easy for me and it seems to be what I work for all year long when I am at home. I freakin love country music (you can take the girl out of Canada, but you cant take Canada out of the girl) I'm pretty well always down for an adventure (sounds cheesy, but its true) and I love meeting new people..friends are what makes the world a better place if yah ask me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on here because I like to travel as far and wide as I possibly can. Getting to stay with people from around the world not only lets you make new life long friends but you get to learn about a different culture in such an in depth and personal way, more so than you would by staying at any hotel or hostel.

Interests

I just like to be happy, so whatever I'm doing as long as I've got a smile on I'm pretty much down with it. Hiking, swimming, having a campfire with friends, driving around blasting the tunes, cooking a sweet meal..whatever really. Man, even a good long hard day at work feels nice even though it may not be the funnest thing in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love anything country for the most part when it comes to music. I love acoustic music too- if somebody busts out their guitar and sings I can actually sit there for hours and be that girl who requests every cover on the planet. I go through phases with reading books, but I'm a typical girl so I love a good love story, hahaha. Then again, I really like books with facts and statistics, so there is that. Movies, I am all about the comedies. I tend to laugh even when my heart feels like its being all squished by life, soooooooooooooo yea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite memories is living in Northern India with a Tibetan family teaching English and Math to Tibetan and Bhutanese refugee monks in the coolest monastery of all time in a village called Bir.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn as much as I can about another language while I am there and I;m always down for swapping it with some English lessons. Learning about each others families and day to day lives always makes for some good conversation. And oh god, how could I forget...I'll bring a deck of cards and teach anyone and everyone how to play spoons.
