About Me
After a solid year of planning, my girlfriend Emily and I just sold all of our stuff and are about to embark on a multi-year backpacking trip starting off in Hawaii. At this point, the plan is to WWOOF and couch surf on Hawaii through October, find options for work-trade on boats to take us to Australia + New Zealand through February, visit some friends in Taiwan around March, then catch the cherry blossoms in Japan around April.
My passion in life is music: I'm a classically trained percussionist; I've played drum set for a few jazz ensembles and rock bands; I've been a DJ on radio shows, at house parties, at clubs, and at bars; I also noodle around a bit with music production through Ableton.
Professionally, my background is in digital marketing, but I also do freelance work for web development, business intelligence, and data science projects.
I also love to cook, and my specialty is breakfast food. I'm excited to learn about the different cuisines from our travels - hopefully I'll be able to share recipes and techniques with hosts along the way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and experience new cultures first-hand. Down the line in our travels, I hope to learn / teach new languages with our Couchsurfing hosts. Aside from that, I'm most excited about opportunities to collaborate with new Couchsurfing friends on cooking, music, and other creative projects.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped run a renegade sound system + festival on top of a mountain outside of Eugene. Since I was also responsible for cooking the artist / performer breakfast, I found a way to cook a shallot-vinegar reduction Eggs Benedict for 20+ people using camp stoves and jerry-rigged cooking implements.
