I want to learn from experiencing new places, being challenged in my assumptions, and by seeking to alleviate suffering in the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous introvert. I love good food and I watch too much television. I like helping people any way I can, I love to learn, and I want to explore the world.

I enjoy helping people, and have dedicated much of my adult life to working with young offenders who face marginalisation, homelessness, drug addiction, and racism. I am passionate about not just being a part of the world, but doing my best to make it a better place one relationship at a time.

I love old movies, especially the Marx Brothers and some classic Gene Kelly movies. I can't dance but I love watching it, and I love being with other passionate people and learning about the things they love.

I'm usually found with my wonderful partner, Riley. He is an artist who not only supports me, but engages with my desire to help people. He is a wonderful teacher, and spending time with him will offer a chance to learn many new things about artistic practice, urban design, community development and cooking.

I just joined this community not long ago but I had an awesome experience surfing in Chicago and Tokyo. I hope to host someday when I have extra space as well.

Travelling, reading, writing, films and television, musical instruments, criminology and true crime, and playing indoor volleyball

I have always wanted to travel, but there has been little opportunity for me to save up and I began to feel like I would never be able to. Low-and-behold, a friend of mine introduced to me to this incredible community, and I was able to use it to see a few cities. I'm so excited to be able to save up for my next trip with the help of you beautiful hosts out there. I cannot thank you enough for making travel accessible to those who could not otherwise afford it... you're the real heroes.

Movies: anything by Wes Anderson, especially the Royal Tenenbaums, Secondhand Lions, The Way Way Back, Stand By Me, LOTR, Star Wars, the Marx Brothers, Interstellar, anything that makes me think or laugh.

Music: Modest Mouse, Mother Mother, Wilco, Elliott Smith, MGMT, Eric Whitacre, Everything Everything, Lecrae, any soul music... I also play saxophone! I have taught several people if you have one and are wanting to learn.

I love to read, and I'm always excited to learn something new. If you are at all interested in criminology or true crime, we can talk for days! I also enjoy cooking at home, so if the option is available, please let me cook for you!
