About Me
Hey everyone,
My name is Tay and I'm on a 4-city graduate research tour, which I'm super stoked about! I'm traveling light with just a duffle and a backpack and I'm looking for a couch or floor to kick it on!
I'm planning on visiting Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and NYC over the course of one month. As for what I'm doing in theses cities? I'm researching green job training programs!
Anyway, some little things about me:
I have lived in 4 states in the US: Tennessee, Montana, New Mexico, and Oregon. Socially, Oregon is my favorite but New Mexico's food is seriously delicious.
I ride a motorcycle and I absolutely love it!
I love animals, especially ones that like to snuggle. I have a german shepherd/lab mix that is my favorite part of my day.
I play hacky sack and I think it's a great way to meet new people, even though I'm not very good.
I am part of the LGBTQ community so I'll probably try and find out what your city has to offer whether it be dance clubs or social events for at least one day that I'm there.
I'm going to school to be an urban planner with a focus on climate action and environmental justice.
Between school and work, I don't have much free time in my day to day life. But when I do, I like to watch netflix with my dog, hang out with my friends and family, play guitar, or dance (hip hop).
I like to have a beer or a cocktail but I'm not planning on raging throughout the duration of my trip. I'll definitely go out and have a good time occasionally though!
Anything else you wanna know, just ask!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing because I have a limited budget so I'm trying to cut living expenses as much as I can so that I can have a bigger budget for enjoying the cities I'm in! Also, I'm happy to either stay out of your way as a house guest or hang out!
I will gladly buy you a beer, make you a kick ass cocktail in house (if you get the liquors, I'll buy the ice and any other garnishes or ingredients necessary), or do a chore in your house for having me! For what it's worth, I am highly trained in classic cocktail bartending so you're gonna get treated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Within one year of learning how to dance hip hop, I won a school dance competition and got to go to Los Angeles.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you how to make a mean ham, cheese, and egg sandwich.
I can teach you how to bartend - the basics as well as the recipes for the top 20 classic cocktails - and the nuances behind american whiskeys (bourbon, wheat, rye, etc.
I'll also talk about the US if you're at all interested including politics, places to visit, food culture, whatever you're intrigued about I'm happy to try and give my two cents!
I'll teach you the 4 most important chords on a guitar if you happen to have access to one (in my opinion).
I can show you my favorite slam poets.
