I am originally from a small town nestled in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but I now live in St Barth where I work as an English teacher.

In general, I am an outgoing yet laidback person who loves to enjoy every moment to its fullest! I will admit, however, I do love new adventures and consider myself somewhat of an adrenaline junkie. I find excitement in exotic and unfamiliar things and am always trying to experience different perspectives --whether it be through a culture, a language, food, beer, activities.

While living in Paris, France for three months, I traveled throughout Europe almost every weekend. During these travels, not once did I Couchsurf, instead I opted for hostels or Airbnb's. While I enjoyed all of my adventures around Europe and North Africa, I felt that I wasn't able to experience the true culture of each place by staying in hostels with other foreigners. Therefore, in my upcoming travels, I am hoping to Couchsurf and gain a better perspective of the culture of every city, country, and its citizens.

I love the outdoors--whether it be hiking, running, swimming, camping, or simply laying out at the beach, I love to spend time outside and being active. Other than that, I enjoy the simple things in life--drinking a glass of wine (or a pint of beer) outside on my balcony with good music and great friends accounts for 90% of my time.

Music: It's a cliche answer but I like a little bit of everything... Some of my favorite artists are- Ben Howard, Bon Iver, alt-J, BORNS, Sylvan Esso, Flume, ODESZA, Glass Animals, Alabama Shakes, Sigur Ros, Fauve, Edith Piaf, Stromae, Volcano Choir.

Movies: I love watching the occasional independent film at the local movie theatre, however, my top 5 favorite movies are Titanic, La Vie en Rose, Forrest Gump, Stand By Me, and The Breakfast Club. WARNING: I frequently make references to, and quote, obsure lines from movies including, but not limited to, Finding Nemo, The Grinch, Bridesmaids, Shrek and Elf. I apologize in advance if you are not a movie buff!

Books: The Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games (I have a weakness for Young Adult Fiction), King Leopold's Ghost, Wild are a few of my faves. Always looking for new recommendations...
