About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Fully experience parts of my own country that I have not yet seen. For someone who has spent time in different places around the world, I find great importance to also see what is in our own back yard.
ABOUT ME
I am someone who grew up in a very culturally stagnant area south of Portland, Oregon. I am so blessed to have been raised in such a safe and nurturing place but the moment I graduated high school, I knew that I wanted to experience so much more. I studied abroad at the University of Ghana in West Africa my sophomore year in college (after I spent my first year at San Diego State). To put it frankly, however cliche as it sounds, it completely changed my life. I experienced life in an entirely new way that formed a new lens on how I viewed the world and the people that shared it with me. Since then, I have had many other experiences that have only further inspired me to make a difference. The last few years it has been coaching young girls in volleyball but it has always been so much more then just coaching the sport. In addition, I am pursuing early childhood education. I hope to one day run centers that focus on creating conscious world citizens. But that's several years down the road. For now, I am taking a few months to travel through the United States and experience as much as I can.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to go through life appreciating what you have and always going through things with a open mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a very outdoorsy active person who enjoys getting to know how people all over the world live their lives. There is so much to learn from the people and places you visit. Everyone has something unique to bring to this world. Whether that be food, culture, music, politics, daily routines, etc. I participate by simply opening my eyes and connecting with others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My most memorable coach surfing experience was when I was visiting the Ivory Coast in West Africa. I stayed with and Indian man who was there for work. I will never forget my first meal upon arrival of python and alligator. A texture I had never experienced prior to nor since.
Interests
Hiking, biking, cooking, music, art, painting, drawing, walking, sight-seeing, eating, socializing, dancing, volleyball, tennis, watching movies, swimming...just to name a few. My biggest interest is however, connecting with others and obviously mostly through travel.

Teach, Learn, Share
I have had many international experiences as well as amazing cultural times in my own back yard. I have abundant conversations to share and go back and forth on.
