ABOUT ME
I own a non-profit organization in India and am back and forth from the States and India because of this. I put my location as Utah, but if you don't get a response or I tell you I can't host you, it is because I am in India and have no internet! I am in villages a lot of the time. I am doing medical training and focus on global surgery so I am often working in various local hospitals around the world.
I am really hard working and task oriented. I love to find out new things about new people. My friends will get annoyed with me at times because I like to stop and meet people along the way and find out their story. Why are they here? What makes them tick? This can be annoying for some of my friends as they could really care less. I hope they would say they think I am fun and that I am someone they like to be around because I make them feel at home and someone they can share their true feelings with. I am fairly religious (I don't drink or smoke) but I am open to all religions and embrace learning about others faith. I also don't discriminate against those who feel faith isn't for them. Whatever helps you to tick at the end of the day is the most important thing. Aren't we all just trying to achieve happiness?
PHILOSOPHY
"Life is for living, and living is free!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I learned about couch surfing while backpacking through India and have had nothing but good experiences since. Thanks to all the people who have hosted me and helped me. I look forward to hosting more as people come through. I have had some opportunities and it has been great!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Too many good things. Never a bad experience. THANK YOU!
Interests
I LOVE CULTURE! I am a medical anthropology student at Brigham Young University in Utah and LOVE learning about all the amazing opportunities out there. I have an extreme facination with anatomy and how all our muscles and bones and organs work together to make us. We are so lucky to have these amazing bodies that allow us to do so much. As I learn more and more about medicine I become more and more excited about the possibilities that are there. I want to travel internationally and help people both medically and emotionally. I would love to get involved with clinics and hospitals internationally and try and do my part. There are so many amazing people in this world and I feel it is my obligation to help in whatever way I can as I feel I have been blessed in a lot of ways that others haven't.

Music, Movies, and Books
LOVE James Bond, Jason Bourne Series, A Beautiful Mind, Harry Potter, Inception, and just about any movie that makes you think and takes a weird shift at the end! International films are great at this!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first real experience living internationally left me breathless. I had traveled to at least 10-15 countries by this point but never for more than a couple of weeks. I spent 5 months in India studying alternative medical practices among the people there and just fell in love with the Indian people and culture. I spent a couple weeks living in a remote village and was amazed at the things I learned from these people. Non of them spoke English and I was very limited in my Telugu, but I felt a deep connection to them as we respected each other as human beings. This was one of those times in my life that I truly understood my purpose and my position with other people. I felt a love that I had never felt; a love unparralleled even by my family at times. This was what I was looking for, and I have been addicted ever since. I cannot just visit a place to "sightsee" or be a tourist. I want to be a part of that culture and a part of their traditions. I want to appreciate what they have and have them share with me what is so important to them.
The other moment I was awestruck was in an operating room during a spinal surgery. I was an intern and just watching the procedure and helping to hold and move the body for the surgeon. This may sound odd, but it was one of those times that I felt the spirit of the creator - for me this is God - and knew that there was something more than just this. I felt love and knew that we could help this person. It is humbling to know that someone's life is in your hands. As the surgery progressed I felt I had found a calling and I wanted to use it in whatever way I could.
